Troop Leadership Training This Sunday

Introduction to Troop Leadership Training (ILST)

When: Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 1:30pm
Where: Scout Hall

With many of our Scouts in new leadership positions, and more to come in our Patrols – it’s time for our Troop to get trained up!

If you were just elected/appointed to a new position – this training is a MUST. If you think you might be a Patrol Leader or Assistant Patrol Leader soon – this training is a MUST. Make sure you attend on Sunday!

The purpose of the ILST course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to most effectively reach success in that role. It is intended to help Boy Scouts in leadership positions within their troop understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities.

ILST is the first course in the series of leadership training offered to Boy Scouts. Completion of ILST is a prerequisite for Boy Scouts to participate in the more advanced leadership courses National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) and the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE).

UPDATE: Court of Honor – Oct 6th

We have a couple of updates about our Court of Honor on Tuesday, October 6th. First it a time change – Scouts are asked to come early to help setup at 5:45pm.

The awards ceremony will be presided by a meal and will start as soon as everything is setup, so friends and family should plan to arrive at 6:00pm.

The main dish for the meal is being provided, baked spaghetti. Families are being asked to bring side dishes, desserts, and a 2 liter drink. Sign up sheets with contact information were given out at our meeting.

We hope to have a good turn out as this is a big ceremony for our troop. Lots of badges to give out post-Summer Camp and there will also be a presentation on the Philmont Trek. Don’t miss this one folks!
